The Poppy Granite Cycle Route is one of the oldest cycle routes in the Waldviertel and leads past poppy fields, impressive granite formations and idyllic streams and ponds - a perfect combination of nature, exercise and enjoyment!
The route was extended in 2025 and now also includes the picturesque communities of Lichtenau, Albrechtsberg and Bad Traunstein. This means the route offers even more scenic variety and cultural highlights. Excursion destinations, regional culinary delights and real insider tips await along the way - ideal for an enjoyable day trip or even a multi-day tour. Whether you prefer a sporty ride or a leisurely discovery tour, the Poppy Granite Cycle Route is an experience for all the senses.
Make sure the route you choose matches your fitness level. Check whether the gastronomy businesses you want to visit along the way are open. Pack your mobile phone and maps in your backpack.
