The most species-rich river landscape in Austria is one of the most fascinating floodplains in Central Europe and is a popular excursion area for families. Along the cycle route you will find places to swim, many an animal to observe, fragrant wheat fields and meadows, refreshment in the wine cellar lane, fun and games on playgrounds, interesting birdwatching hideaways and viewing platforms, concerts by frogs & co. and, at the right time, the opportunity to experience bird ringing live.

In Hohenau, you can take a detour to the Au-Bad, which features an island and a children’s area. A designated children’s swimming area is available. Spacious sunbathing lawns surround the swimming area. The adjacent recreational area offers: a children’s playground, tennis courts, a beach volleyball court, a streetball court, a soccer field, a skate park, a curling facility, and a buffet.
