From the alpine Mostviertel to the Vienna Alps. A racing bike tidbit from Waidhofen/Ybbs in the Ybbstal Alps to Krumbach in the Bucklige Welt.
From Waidhofen/Ybbs, the route runs parallel to the Ybbs through the Ybbstal Alps upstream to a lunch stop in Langau at the Gasthof zum Schützenwirt. The route continues through the Ötscherland and up to the highest elevation, the Zellerrain. A quick descent to the idyllic Erlaufsee and you are already in Mariazell with its imposing basilica. One last ascent to Gschaid and the final descent to the stage destination of St. Aegyd am Neuwalde.
The second day begins with the climb to Kalten Kuchl and a long descent to Rohr im Gebirge. Via Klausbach, Gutenstein and the quiet Piesting and later Miesenbach valleys, you reach the lunch stop at the Landgasthof zur Schubertlinde in Grünbach am Schneeberg. Well fortified, the route continues through the hilly Schneebergland in a south-easterly direction into the Bucklige Welt to the final destination in Krumbach.
