    Rudolfsbahn - Straight through three federal states.

    Travel from Lower Austria through Upper Austria to Styria on the Rudolfsbahn.

    The history of today's Rudolfsbahn is as long as its entire route from Lower Austria to Italy: it was opened in the seventies of the 19th century under the name k.k. priv. Kronprinz Rudolf-Bahn Gesellschaft, KRB for short. At the time, it took its passengers from Sankt Valentin in Lower Austria via Carinthia to Tarvisio Centrale in Italy.

    Today, the entire route of this historically significant railroad line runs from Amstetten in Lower Austria via Upper Austria, Styria and Carinthia to Tarvisio Boscoverde in Italy. However, the name "Rudolfsbahn" is now only used for the northern section. From Selzthal station, where a double-track line begins, the line is called the "Ennstalbahn".

    The state borders of Lower Austria and Upper Austria are at the stations of Waidhofen an der Ybbs and Ramingdorf-Haidershofen. Passengers cross the border between Upper Austria and Styria between the Kleinreifling and Weißenbach-Sankt Gallen stops.
