Great circular tour around Ober-Grafendorf with beautiful views.
Family-friendly circular tour through almost all 17 cadastral districts of Ober-Grafendorf. The route is mostly flat on asphalt or gravel field paths with a few short climbs.
The tour begins in Ober-Grafendorf across from the gas station. We follow the green bike trail markers eastward and cross the Pielach River and the B39 federal highway. We then follow the bike path past Fridau Castle to Kotting and Gattmannsdorf. Here, we have the opportunity to stop for a break at the Harm wine tavern. We continue along the municipal road to Gröben and Reitzing. We turn off the paved road and follow a picturesque dirt path through the forest to Gasten. After a short stretch on the country road, we turn right toward Kuning. Passing a few old, scattered farmsteads, we reach Badendorf and Ritzersdorf. Here we cross Federal Highway B39 again, and shortly afterward we cross the Pielach River via the Rampsteg footbridge. We follow the Pielach Valley Bike Trail for a short stretch and then turn right toward Wantendorf. After crossing the Mariazellerbahn railway line, we continue on to Baumgarten. A short detour offers the chance to stop for refreshments at the Hehal Inn. We continue on the dirt road, crossing the Krumpe (the former Ober-Grafendorf–Gresten railroad line) and, shortly afterward, Federal Highway B29. We follow the green bike trail markers along the dirt road and enjoy beautiful views of Ober-Grafendorf, the Pielach Valley, and the Dunkelsteinerwald. Once we reach Ebersdorf, we can take a short break at Mostbaron Moderbacher. Via the Pielach Valley Bike Trail, we pass the municipal sports center on our way back to our starting point. Here, we can enjoy the conclusion of our lovely loop tour at the “Zum Schweiger” inn.

Great views when the weather is nice. Immediately after heavy rain, the dirt roads may be muddy in places.
