Description

The route from Losenheim via the Novembergrat is very beautiful, but not for beginners.

You start at the valley station of the Salamander chairlift in Losenheim - a district of Puchberg am Schneeberg. Past the Almreserlhaus and the Edelweißhütte, the Nördlicher Grafensteig begins, which you follow to the start of the Novembergrat. The exposed Novembergrat is to be enjoyed with caution. The tour offers many scenic viewpoints, and at both the Damböckhaus and the Fischerhütte - Lower Austria's highest hut - the friendly innkeepers serve delicious hut food. The descent is via the Schneidergraben, which is technically challenging due to the loose scree.
