Hiking tour Starting from Tourist office Puchberg am Schneeberg
Extensive circular route over the peaks Schober and Öhler starting in Puchberg am Schneeberg.
The Schober peak lies at 1213 meters altitude and just a short distance further is the Öhler at 1183 meters. On the circular route over the Schoberwände, you climb these two peaks. The hike starts in the health resort Puchberg and leads on pleasant paths towards Schneeberg, where you branch off to the scenic Sebastian Waterfall. If you want to strengthen yourself before the ascent, you can do so at the waterfall hut and cool off further back at the waterfall. You reach Mamauwiese via the Fadengraben (inn is closed). Past the Schober Chapel, the ascent to the peaks begins. At the Öhler, you enjoy a beautiful view of the Mariahilfberg. If you are thirsty again after reaching the summit, you can stop at the Öhlerschutzhaus before descending. Then, via Hartberg and the upper Siernigbach valley, you comfortably descend back to Puchberg.
The route can also be connected with two stages on the Wiener Alpenbogen trail. One stage leads from the Edelweiss Hut at Schneeberg to the Öhlerschutzhaus, the next takes you from the Öhlerschutzhaus to Pernitz.
