Description
The Schober summit lies at an altitude of 1213 meters and just a short distance away is the Öhler at 1183 meters. On the circular tour over the Schoberwände, you climb these two peaks. The hike begins in the climatic health resort of Puchberg and leads along pleasant paths towards Schneeberg, where you branch off to the wild and romantic Sebastian waterfall. If you want to fortify yourself before the ascent, you can do so in the waterfall hut and cool off further back by the waterfall. You reach the Mamauwiese via the Fadengraben (inn is closed). Passing the Schoberkapelle chapel, you now head up to the summits. At the Öhler you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Mariahilfberg. If you are thirsty again after climbing the summit, stop off at the Öhlerschutzhaus before descending. Via Hartberg and the upper Siernigbachtal valley, the route then takes you back down to Puchberg at a leisurely pace.
The tour can also be combined with two stages on the trail along the Wiener Alpenbogen - Arc of the Viennese Alps (trail). One stage leads from the Edelweisshütte on the Schneeberg to the Öhlerschutzhaus, the next takes us from the Öhlerschutzhaus to Pernitz.
