Description
This route can be done as a circular route from the parking lot at the Schneeberg chairlift and offers a great view into the valley from the Edelweißhütte. Rent the snowshoes at the valley station and ascend the Schneeberg up to the Fadensattel. After a stop at the Edelweißhütte, enjoy the panorama to conclude the route during the descent by chairlift.

- Equipment Snowshoes, backpack with provisions, winter-suitable trekking poles, light, mobile phone, lighter, maps.For small equipment mishaps, often a cable tie or a piece of wire is enough for temporary repair.It is recommended to always carry basic avalanche equipment in the mountains.
- Route description From the valley station of the chairlift, we follow the marking towards Mamauwiese. At the right turn arrow towards Mamauwiese, we continue straight on the forest road until we reach the Almreserlhaus or the Edelweißhütte (both options are possible). For the descent, we either take the same path back or cover the last altitude meters downhill with the chairlift.
- Parking Free parking spaces are available at the valley station of the Schneeberg chairlift.
- Getting there Take the A2 to the Wiener Neustadt West exit and then follow the B26 towards Puchberg. In Puchberg, follow the signs to Losenheim and Schneeberg chairlift.
- Public transport Travel to Puchberg by train (ÖBB) from Wr. Neustadt, then Retter lines from Puchberg to Losenheim.
