Description
The Sonntagberg pilgrimage route begins at the Maria Taferl pilgrimage church. From here, you follow a particularly scenic section of the Austrian Way of St. James down to Marbach and cross the Danube at Persenbeug. Over the Hengstberg with its wonderful views of the Mostviertel mountains, you reach Neustadtl. The route continues to the Kollmitzberg pilgrimage church and Ardagger Abbey. In Zeillern, you leave the Way of St. James, which continues west from here via Wallsee and Mauthausen to Linz-Pöstlingberg. The Sonntagbergweg, on the other hand, turns south and leads via Aschbach to Seitenstetten Abbey. From the abbey, the route continues along a beautiful panoramic path to the destination, the pilgrimage basilica on the Sonntagberg.
