Description
- safety instructions Make sure when choosing your route that it matches your fitness level. Check if the gastronomy businesses you want to visit along the way are open. Pack your charged mobile phone and map material in your backpack. For cross-border routes, always carry a passport or identity card.
- Equipment Sturdy footwear, functional clothing, sun and rain protection, map material, telescopic poles if necessary, first aid kit (blister plasters), sufficient provisions (snack, muesli bars, fruit, water). For winter hikes, we recommend an insulated flask with warm drinks, warming functional clothing, headwear, as well as gloves, pocket or headlamp.
- Route description As its name suggests, this path shows diverse and extremely impressive granite blocks from the structure of the Wachtstein. The themed circular route leads to the most fascinating rock formations of Bad Traunstein. The Franzosenstein tells the history of Traunstein. You start at the car park at the elementary school and follow the signs over the Opferstein to the Wachtstein (viewpoint at 958 m). Then continue through the Wachtstein area towards the village edge. Here you walk along the settlement to the crossroads and further towards the "Stone Bakery" (or you follow the path to the left here, which leads back to Bad Traunstein without an adventure detour). This path takes you over the Franzosenstein and the Josef Elter exhibition center back to the parish church.
