Hiking tour Starting from Raabs/Thaya - Main Square
Raabs (400 m) - Eibenstein (407 m) - Drosendorf (370 m)
Raabs (400 m) - Eibenstein (407 m) - Drosendorf (370 m)
One of the most beautiful stages on the Thayatalweg: from Raabs, the route leads through alluvial forests and along the Thaya to the imposing Kollmitz ruins. It is enthroned high above the Thaya on a rocky outcrop - weathered walls, overgrown courtyards and sweeping views bring history to life. This is followed by a quiet, almost untouched section directly along the Thayaufer, past old mills, through valuable natural forests and near-natural mixed forests on the slopes to the walled old town of Drosendorf. A destination straight out of a picture book!
Highlights along the stage:
From the main square in Raabs an der Thaya, the route runs along the Thaya River to the Bohemian Wall and on to the Kollmitz ruins. Via Kollmitzgraben, the Thayatal Trail leads to the Haidlmühle and then follows the course of the river past several mill sites. Passing through Eibenstein, Primmersdorf, and the Robesgraben, the hike finally reaches Drosendorf and its historic old town.
