The winegrowers of Ahrenberg and Eichberg have erected a 15m high viewing platform at the highest point of the popular Hauersteig hiking trail. The corkscrew, a symbol of wine, conviviality and enjoyment, opens up enchanting views of the surrounding countryside! The view stretches from the Danube floodplains across the Weinviertel to the vast Waldviertel region. You can see from the Tullnerfeld to the Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German) and over the Vienna Woods to the Schneeberg.

The magnificent view from the corkscrew, the relaxing sounds of nature, the scent of forest floor and excellent wine, the delicious delicacies with which the wine taverns entice you to linger, feeling the cheerful atmosphere and warm hospitality: a visit to the Ahrenberger-Eichberger cellar lane is a treat for all the senses. Traisental wine guides: Guided hikes through nature on the theme of wine are offered. The wine guides are keen to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for wine, the beauty of their homeland and nature. Exciting stories, funny episodes from everyday life and traditional tales await you. At the end of the tour, we will stop off to enjoy some Traisental wine or grape juice. The Traisental winegrowing region, Austria's youngest and at the same time oldest winegrowing region, has the highest density of wine taverns in Austria in terms of wine-growing area. - Route description From the Gemeinlebarn stop on the Tulln - St. Pölten railway line, walk along the road to Ahrenberg, briefly follow the "Korkenzieher" signpost, then ascend on the red trail through loess ravines to Seelackenberg and Pestkreuz. Walking time: 1¼ hours. Keep left and reach a timber storage area on a red, later red-yellow marked path. To the right, continue unmarked for a short distance on a forest road, then reach a red trail that leads right to the viewpoint. From Pestkreuz, half an hour. Descend to Traismauer via "Vier Eichen" (sculpture tree) and the mountain chapel. From the viewpoint: 1¼ hours. Explore the thematic trail in running shoes or with walking sticks.
