Description

The Steinbachtal is a side valley of the Ybbstal in the direction of Lunz am See. It branches off to the right of the Ybbstal about 1 km outside of Göstling at the "Kögerlwirt" inn. Because of its scenic beauty, its rare and protected alpine flora and fauna, its many convenient walking and hiking opportunities, it is one of Göstling's most popular excursion destinations.

With the help of diagrams, boards, old buildings and ruins, hikers are shown the many ways in which man used or still uses the power of the torrent to generate electricity, drive mill wheels, operate hammer mills, transport wood and charcoal, etc.
