Description
Lunz am smaragdgrünen See: The lake that gave the area its name shines in the midst of a magnificent landscape, surrounded by the mountains of the wild Mostviertel region. As the only natural lake in Lower Austria, Lake Lunz invites you to enjoy swimming, boating and fishing away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It should actually be called Lunz an den Seen, as there are also the crystal-clear mountain lakes - the Mittersee and the Obersee, situated between wildly romantic rocks and gentle alpine pastures at 1,113 meters above sea level. They are located in beautiful surroundings at the foot of the high alpine Dürrenstein. On the south side of the Obersee you can also see a swimming moor (Rotmoos), above the Mittersee a romantic waterfall and the Rainer spring with the "roaring bull".
