Rewarding hike up and over the Hochriess and the Schlierwand to the Erlauf, the so-called Türkensturz, through the Purgstaller Prater and along the Erlaufschlucht gorge (Fischersteig).
- Route description From the car wash, cross the Marktbrücke bridge, turn left into the Parkgasse to the main road. Cross this road. The Purgstall Prater begins here. On hiking trail no. 3 right bank along the Erlauf gorge, in the forest right (sign no.4) past Hutweidelandschaft straight ahead into the Unternberger Heide to the Kneipphaus, on the asphalt road left at the edge of the forest, at the farm up through the forest (Mertenkirche.) to the road (junction viewpoint), left further along the Landesstraße, turn left onto the Güterweg Klein Plaika, after 150 m left the meadow path, keep right to the edge of the forest, along the break-off of the Türkensturz. (connecting path/branch off via Wörth possible), right down onto Wiesenrain, Bachbrückerl, (Hochriess wildlife park, restaurant and farm holidays), left along the main road, (at the yellow natural gas point) left field path to the energy plant, footbridge over Erlauf. Return upstream along the Erlauf (Schaubachsteg), camp cemetery, along path no. 2 on the Path of Peace, past the Pratersteg and on the left bank along path no. 3 back to the starting point.
