With over 800 inhabitants, Breitenwaida is the largest cadastral community in the municipality of Hollabrunn. Hollabrunn is the center of the western Weinviertel - surrounded by fields, vineyards and forests, embedded in a lovely and varied hilly landscape. The climate in Hollabrunn is very sunny and, especially in summer, dry and very warm. The municipality of Hollabrunn, a modern town with economic and cultural advantages, offers an unexpected amount of landscape and space alongside tradition and modernity. The area around the town is full of recreational opportunities and invites you to hike, explore or take part in sporting activities.
The starting point is the parking lot at the Breitenwaida train station. Route 1 leads through the wine cellar lane (next to the church) up to the Pankrazberg, where a High Middle Ages hilltop settlement once stood. There are botanical highlights to admire and opportunities for a picnic. After taking in the panoramic view of the western Weinviertel, the trail leads back through another wine cellar lane to the starting point.
