Pfaffstätten is located in the Thermenregion Vienna Woods - one of Austria's oldest and most famous wine-growing regions - and on the south-eastern foothills of the Vienna Woods Biosphere Reserve. From the Klesheimwarte, right next to the Rudolf Proksch Hut, there is a magnificent panoramic view over the Vienna Basin to the Leitha Mountains and the Schneeberg, which is over 2,000 meters high. Hiking Pfaffstätten is also a popular local recreation area. With its many hiking trails and the Thermenradweg cycle path, those seeking relaxation can unwind here. At the end of the day, the many wine taverns offer a cozy get-together.

From the parking lot, head toward the vineyards to the edge of the forest, following the signs for the Rudolf-Proksch Hut until you reach the Beethoven Long-Distance Hiking Trail (marked as No. 404 on site). Follow this long-distance trail toward Gumpoldskirchen until you reach the Veigl Hut. There, keep to the right and head downhill toward the vineyards. Follow an asphalt road uphill to the edge of the forest, then downhill toward Pfaffstätten until you reach the water main path and the starting point.
The perfect way to round out this tour is to visit the many wine taverns right in town, which are just a few minutes' walk away.
