TV Naturfreunde Circular Hiking Route

Preparation:

Make sure when choosing the route that it matches your experience and fitness level. Check the weather forecast in advance. The weather in the mountains can change unexpectedly fast. Therefore, always set out properly equipped (e.g. rain protection).

Check whether the huts and snack stations you want to visit along the way are open. Inform someone about your chosen route and your planned return time before you start.

The start is at the intersection Siebertweg/Wr. Neustädter Straße (near Hotel Schneeberghof) - follow the blue markings to the so-called "Prater" - continue on the red markings to the waterfall - continue red over the Römerweg and then blue and again red over the Schabrunst to Losenheim - past the castle and then right over the Lärchkogel the red marking to Schneebergdörfl - then yellow markings through the Au to Knipflitz and past the Hubertus Chapel to the Hengstbergweg - follow the road to the right to the Hinteren Hengstweg - then left into the Hinteren Hengstweg, left past Galerie Voka, over the tracks of the Schneebergbahn to the Kirchenweg - along the Kirchenweg, past the church back to the starting point.

Attention: short-term parking zone in the town center

On the South Motorway A2, exit Wr. Neustadt West, B26 direction Puchberg or South Motorway A2, exit Wöllersdorf, B21 direction Puchberg

By train to Wr. Neustadt. Then take the regional train to Puchberg am Schneeberg.

Direct excursion train on weekends from Vienna: Departure at 8:41 a.m. from Vienna Main Station to Puchberg, return at 4:36 p.m. from Puchberg

By bus from Neunkirchen, Ternitz (line 350) and Pernitz (line 330) to Puchberg.

The circular hiking route is marked with signs "Naturfreunde Circular Hiking Route".

Combine your hike with a stay in Puchberg, for example at the hiking establishments Hotel Restaurant Forellenhof, the Pension Bruckerhof, or in the comfort rooms of the Hotel Schneeberghof.
