Hardly any other landscape in Austria boasts as many beautiful vantage points as the Vienna Alps region. What makes these views even more special is when you look at them from a different angle - from the driver's seat of a vintage car, for example! The thermal spa communities in Lower Austria can offer plenty of inspiration in this area for those interested, making a trip into nature a very special experience.
- Route description From Pitten with its unique rose garden and mountain church, the route goes via Schiltern on L 144 to Weingart and Thernberg. Steeply uphill, past the pilgrimage church Maria Schnee - a destination for both pilgrims and excursionists alike - is the "Cathedral of the Bucklige Welt", the widely visible church of Kaltenberg - on L 145 to Lichtenegg. From there, you take L 176 towards Krumbach, and on L 137 you reach Zöbern. Those interested can visit the remarkable automobile museum in Aspang/Markt or continue to St. Corona at Wechsel with its newly created recreational offerings. This road takes you over Kirchberg/Wechsel to Rams. From there, you travel on L 143 to Thann and further to Warth. There, turn left onto B 54 and drive past Seebenstein with a view of the impressive Turkensturz, and via Sautern back to Pitten.

- Getting there A 2 (South motorway) - Seebenstein exit - B 54 (Wechsel federal road) towards Seebenstein - Sautern - PittenS 6 (Semmering expressway) - Seebenstein exit - B 54 towards Seebenstein - Sautern - PittenB 54 (Wechsel federal road) at Seebenstein junction Sautern - PittenB 54 (Wechsel federal road) in Schwarzau am Steinfeld junction Pitten
- Public transport Pitten can be reached by the Aspang railway from Wiener Neustadt in 17 minutes and from the south from Friedberg in about one hour.
- Editor’s tip Always worth a visit are waypoints such as the rose garden in Pitten, the ice cream parlor in Krumbach, the Wexl Arena St. Corona at Wechsel, and the Turkensturz ruin near Gleissenfeld/Seebenstein.
