Description
A walk along the WEINWEG Langenlois allows visitors to immerse themselves in the everyday life and thoughts of the winegrowers and realize what the work, joys and worries of a winegrower's life are all about. Visitors get to know the Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German) wine-growing region, the Langenlois winegrowers and wines and learn all kinds of interesting facts about the cultivation of the vines.
The viticultural themes are supported by some spectacular objects and sculptures: for example, a meter-long earthworm bores its way through the vineyard and accompanies the theme of soil cultivation, a giant sectarian vibrating platform becomes a viewing platform, a swing invites visitors to observe the weather and much more.
- Equipment Sturdy shoes recommended.
- Route description From Ursin Haus in the center of Langenlois, follow the signs at Kornplatz into Walterstraße. Turn right at the Bründlmayer Heurigerhof and follow the footpath to the LOISIUM WeinWelt. From there, continue on Loisium Allee, at the end of which you enter the vineyard through the "Weintor". Now you walk directly through the rows of vines. At the end of the vineyard, turn left and walk along the paved road until you reach the intersection with Taglergraben. From here, you go uphill past the "Riesenrebschere" and "Kreuzungslabor" until you reach the "Riedenportrait", an oversized picture frame that offers unusual views of the opposite top locations such as the well-known Heiligenstein. From here, follow the paved road for another 200 m and then turn right onto the gravel road. The path now turns left twice until you reach the highest point of the hike on Käferberg. At the sculpture "ohne Titel 2005" by Heimo Zobernig, an impressive iron sphere object seven meters high, resembling a bunch of grapes, turn right. Follow the path along the stone wall to the paved Schilterner Straße. Turn left there and immediately right again. Now you pass the "Riesensektrüttelpult" until you reach the first vineyard hut with a wine safe. Below the hut, the path again leads directly through the vineyard to the second hut. After a short steep section downhill, turn right. At the end of the gravel path, turn right. Go down the "Schenkenbichl" – past the "Wetterschaukel", "Riesenregenwurm" and a stone vineyard hut – enjoy the view once more on a platform and finally turn left onto Zwettler Straße. Along the Loisbach, you reach Kornplatz, only a few minutes from the starting point.
