Description
If you wish, you can take a short detour along the educational wine trail to the 15 m high "Korkenzieher" observation tower and enjoy the magnificent panoramic view over the Tullnerfeld to the Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German), over the Vienna Woods to the Schneeberg!
After the hike, we recommend stopping for refreshments at one of the numerous wine cellar lanes in Eichberg or Ahrenberg.
- Route description Both the hiking trail and the wine educational trail begin below the old tree press, at the Schabasser wine tavern. Along the wine educational trail (about 350m long), information about the history, culture, care, and economic importance of Traisental wine is provided at 9 barrel floors. The hiking trail itself leads us further to the highest point where we have a wonderful view from Krems to the Tullnerfeld. As a cozy conclusion, you should plan to stop at the wine taverns.
