One of the many beautiful hiking trails in and around Grimmenstein is the water trail (G2). It leads hiking enthusiasts along the paved Eurovelo9 along the Pitten through a varied environment. The starting point is the town hall square in Grimmenstein, which is the center of social activity depending on the time of year. From there, the trail stretches north through huts to Petersbaumgarten. There, refreshments await walkers at Gasthaus Pichler. Those who prefer to stay on tarmac paths can follow the route back to Grimmenstein.
Alternatively, you can walk opposite the Pichler inn through the valley settlement along the Kegelbach stream to the Ursulaquelle spring. For a short distance, the trail leads through a wooded area with a wonderful view of the Kulmriegel with Grimmenstein Castle, then slowly heads back towards Grimmenstein. You meet the Eurovelo9 again, the last part of the trail is similar to the beginning. When you finally reach the town hall square, you can end the day comfortably there.
