Description
After a stop at the year-round open Edelweißhütte at Schneeberg, not everyone wants to take the direct path and return down to the valley by chairlift. This hiking path passes the Almreserhaus and over the Dürre Leiten back to the valley station. Along the way, there are repeatedly stunning views of Schneeberg and the Gutenstein Alps. If you get tired, you can also shorten the route via the Faden.
- safety instructions Check the local weather in advance. Orientation is more difficult in winter. GPS and/or good maps are essential.
- Equipment Sturdy footwear, warm clothing in layers (many thin layers). The Edelweißhütte is located at over 1,200 meters altitude. Even if it is cold and gray in the valley, it can be sunny up there. Therefore, do not forget sunglasses and sun protection.
