Description

We owe this beautiful hiking trail to the construction of the First Vienna High Spring Pipeline in 1873. In order to utilize the gradient for the valuable drinking water from the source in the Rax-Scheeberg area to Vienna, it was "divided" over the entire length. The hiking trail is correspondingly flat. There are no noticeable inclines or declines, apart from in the town of Baden - and even here there are none worth mentioning. In 1998, this trail was laid out directly on the pipeline route to mark the 125th anniversary of the I. Vienna High Spring Pipeline. Every year in September, the traditional pleasure mile takes place here, with direct wine tasting in the vineyard.

The hiking trail along the I. Wiener Hochquellenleitung consists of 2 routes, each designed as a day trip. The trail leads along the most beautiful sections of the pipeline route. The first section of the 1st Vienna Water Trail begins in Kaiserbrunn. The second section of the 1st Vienna Water Trail starts in Bad Vöslau.
