Make sure your chosen route matches your fitness level. Check whether the gastronomy businesses you plan to visit are open. Pack your charged mobile phone and maps in your backpack. For cross-border routes, always carry a passport or ID card.
Sturdy footwear, functional clothing, sun and rain protection, maps, if necessary telescopic poles, first aid kit (blister plasters), sufficient provisions (snack, muesli bars, fruit, water).
Starting at the Zwettl private brewery, the path leads over Karl-Hagl-Straße into the Schleifgraben, past the somewhat eerie Devil's Rock, and turns right before Koblhof into a forest path that leads over the Weißenberg. Along the Sierningbach, you pass the historic waterworks of the Zwettl private brewery, then the path turns right in the Viehgraben towards the federal road and continues along idyllic forest paths to the Schwarz Alm, where you can take a cozy break. The signposted path leads back to Zwettl via the Kamp valley.
