Aspang-Markt

The market town of Aspang-Markt is located in the district of Neunkirchen in the Wechselland region at the foot of the Hochwechsel. Situated in the foothills of the Alps, the village is known as a starting point for hikes and nature experiences. With a rich history and charming, traditional architecture, Aspang-Markt offers an idyllic atmosphere. In this fascinating landscape, Aspang is the tourist center of the Lower Austrian Wechselgemeinden. The town is characterized by a lively town center, historic buildings such as Aspang Castle, the fountain on the main square and the two parish churches, as well as an active cultural life that is enlivened by local festivals and events.

Sights, culture & vacation in Aspang-Markt

  • Visit the automobile museum with 120 motor vehicles from the 19th and 20th centuries. Those interested in culture can visit the parish churches in Ober- and Unteraspang, as well as the late Gothic church in Aspang-Berg.
  • On the main square, you can admire the beautiful civic buildings, the municipal office and the fountain, all of which are listed buildings.
  • Sports and leisure activities are not neglected here either. In addition to soccer pitches and tennis courts, there is also an outdoor pool.
  • The Aspang-Markt theme trail combines nature and adventure over a distance of around 2.5 kilometers
  • Aspang became famous throughout Austria thanks to the Makos brass band. The prominent "Böhmische Blasmusik" group organizes the Böhmischer Kirtag every two years, one of the event highlights in Aspang.
  • Aspang-Markt train station is the starting point for numerous activities and excursion destinations in the region
