Bernhardsthal
The market town of Bernhardsthal has consisted of the cadastral communities of Bernhardsthal, Katzelsdorf and Reintal since the merger in 1971.
Located approx. 60 km north of Vienna and directly on the northern railroad line, it offers opportunities for recreation and relaxation with cycling, horse riding, boating, fishing, tennis, curling and asphalt curling and hikes through the Thaya floodplains, the pine forest (visitor guidance system and information port) and the vineyards.
An approx. 25-hectare pond in Bernhardsthal invites you to go boating and fishing. Cyclists will find connections to various cycle paths.
Horse lovers have the opportunity to explore the countryside on horseback along bridle paths.
The local museum (4000 years of settlement history) and excursions to the nearby Liechtenstein castles in the Czech Republic via the Reintal border crossing offer plenty of variety for history buffs.
