Buchbach

Welcome to the place of trees, water and hills: the municipality of Buchbach is located in the district of Neunkirchen. From Buchbach, the view extends to the neighboring mountains Weißjackl (805 meters) and Kohlberg (708 meters). In addition to Buchbach, Liesling is also part of the municipality. The name Liesling can be traced back to the Slavic "leslo", which means "forest", and for good reason.

Thanks to the prevailing mild climate, sweet chestnut trees feel particularly at home in Buchbach - and have done so for more than 500 years. But not only forest giants thrive here. Short breaks, families with children and leisure hikers also like to come to Buchbach to stay - and hike through the tranquil landscapes. Clear water, green meadows and dense forests characterize every excursion. A nice tip is the easy, short hike to the Pottschacher huts.
