Drasenhofen

Drasenhofen is located in the northern part of the Weinviertel with an international border crossing to our northern neighbor, the Czech Republic.

At the beginning of the 18th century, the trade route "Die Kaiserstaße", ordered by Emperor Charles VI, ran through our municipality, which was already an important north-south route in Central Europe at that time.

The traditional border community of Drasenhofen consists of the villages of Drasenhofen, Steinebrunn, Kleinschweinbarth and Stützenhofen.

Numerous walking and hiking trails offer peace and relaxation. A popular hiking destination is the Kreuzberg, from where you have a wonderful view over the border to the Czech Republic to the town of Nikolsburg.

The Weinviertel Way of St. James starts in our municipality in Drasenhofen. The pilgrimage continues via Kleinschweinbarth and Stützenhofen to Falkenstein.

Several cycling and hiking trails also lead through our municipality. The pilgrims' hostel in Kleinschweinbarth offers overnight accommodation for pilgrims and cyclists.

The "Traktorium Drasenhofen" is a remarkable museum. There are not only tractors and machines from the past to marvel at, but also motorcycles, mopeds and bicycles. There are also collections of uniforms, tin and enamel plates. Tractor tours on various themes round off the offer.

Whether on foot, by bike or on a tractor, enjoy the landscape of our gentle Weinviertel hills.
