Gutenbrunn
Gutenbrunn in the Weinsberg Forest
SKANDINAVIEN UMS ECK
The mighty giant trees of the (Weinsberger) forest, which is nowhere else to be found in such a cohesive unit in Austria, stand like silent guardians and protectors around Gutenbrunn, whose village structures - thank goodness - have not yet been absorbed by urbanization. Here, the early morning still smells of fresh bread when the baker starts his day's work early; here, the merchant still writes to you when your wallet has been left on the kitchen table....
It used to be said that the Waldviertel was a sleepy region, but anyone who follows or even takes part in the lively hustle and bustle of the clubs and societies in this village will not get much chance to "sleep", because in Gutenbrunn cheerfulness and joy reign.
But it takes a healthy mind in a healthy body. That's why, from spring to fall, the paths invite you to cycle and winter sports enthusiasts are encouraged to exercise on idyllic cross-country ski trails through woods and fields.
Gutenbrunn is perhaps a small remnant of paradise. Enviable if you have your home here. Happy those who stop off here from time to time, take a break and spend a few days relaxing. Pity those who have never found their way here before!
