Gemeinde Lichtenegg
Nestled in the gently rolling hills of the Bucklige Welt, between golden yellow fields and shady green forests lies the municipality of Lichtenegg, away from the hustle and bustle of urban centers. Here, where the warm summer wind blows across the cornfields, those seeking relaxation will still find people who have time for each other, who live in harmony with nature and warmly welcome visitors.
Hikers are gladly refreshed with a sparkling jug of apple cider, a sandwich with hearty farmer's bacon and welcomed into the convivial circle at the regulars' table.
Lichtenegg offers all culture lovers a special attraction, the Tschudi farm, the former residence of the Swiss South American explorer J.J. von Tschudi, who found his adopted home in this municipality and whose work has been documented here in various places. The courtyard with its striking balcony can be viewed from the outside, but is now privately owned.
Lichtenegg village store
Here you will find a diverse selection of regional products such as eggs, dairy products, meat, pasta, spelt products, honey, baked goods and pastries. You can even buy decorative items and plants in the Lichtenegg village store. In 2023, this project would be honored by "So gut schmeckt Niederösterreich" as regional store of the year in the category "Self-service store".
