The market town of Michelbach is surrounded by hilly meadows and forests in the district of Sankt Pölten-Land. The municipality comprises the villages of Michelbach Dorf and Markt, Untergoin, Mayerhöfen, Kropfsdorf, Kleindurlas, Gstetten and Finsteregg. The village was first mentioned in a document in 1124. Today, the Elsbeerreich offers wonderful opportunities for leisure activities and short breaks. Hiking fans, families with children and "stargazers" in particular will find great excursion destinations in Michelbach.

Hike far & sleep well in Michelbach
In addition to other easy hiking routes - such as the popular Elsbeerweg - Michelbach has family-friendly inns and accommodation for a rest and overnight stay. A special feature is the "Schatzhegerin": under this motto, the Weitzl family has created an organic paradise on the Hegerberg - with meadow orchards, vegetable cultivation, wild herbs and happy animals.
