Ottenthal

The small municipality of Ottenthal is located on the northern edge of the Weinviertel - right on the Czech border.

It consists of the 2 cadastral communities of Ottenthal and Guttenbrunn and has a total of 590 inhabitants. Ottenthal lies at an altitude of 240 m above sea level and has a total area of 15.4 km².

The gently rolling hills are characterized by arable farming and lined with forests.

Ottenthal is a typical Weinviertel street village. The parish church is dedicated to St. Martin, the local chapel in Guttenbrunn to St. Francis.

An Eldorado for hikers, cyclists, tennis players, horse lovers and those who want to enjoy nature for body and soul.

A botanical rarity - the "Tatarian sea kale" - can be found in the Zeiserlberg nature reserve to the west of the village. It blooms in May.

Ottenthal has its own small border crossing to the Czech Republic, now the South Moravian town of Mikulov can be reached in a few minutes.

Ottenthal is part of the Weinviertel tri-border region.
