Prigglitz

High above the Schwarzatal valley on a sunny terrace above the foggy fields lies Prigglitz. The dreamy community in the district of Neunkirchen is a certified "nature village" and is popular with hikers, cyclists and culture fans.

Excursion destinations worth visiting in Prigglitz:

  • Enjoy art in the open air: On the 16-hectare meadows around the Gasteil estate, the Seidl sculptor couple exhibit works by international artists and serve visitors a delicious organic snack.
  • Take a tasty break: At the "Päuschen Häuschen", there are not only great breakfast kisterl, but also pulled pork burgers and homemade cakes. You can enjoy them on the large meadow where the cows munch away or in the cozy little house.
  • Hike up to the Pottschacher Hut: The hike from Prigglitz to the 914-metre-high Pottschacher Huts takes just one hour. Seasonal specialties such as mushroom dishes or fresh game make the excursion a culinary experience.
  • Try the Schöberl at the Waldburgerangerhütte: The hike up to the Waldburganger hut (1,182 m) is a little longer, but you should do it for the famous Schöberl alone. Next to the Waldburgerangerhütte is the Bodenwiese, where grazing animals graze in summer - it's important to behave correctly here.
