Welcome to the Waldviertel!

"Sallingberg" - the mountain of the blessed - is what our ancestors called this place in the northern Waldviertel 900 years ago.

And they were not wrong with this name. In the gentle hilly landscape around Sallingberg with its meadows, ponds and forests, you can experience blissful moments. For example, when you watch the dragonflies dance on the banks of the Große Krems or enjoy the colorful splendor of the blooming poppy fields on country lanes, you can breathe a sigh of relief, be free and enjoy life.

Sallingberg, in the middle of the romantic Waldviertel, is nestled in a gently undulating landscape of forests, meadows and fields. The inns, guesthouses and private lodgings offer almost 60 beds for tourists and the well-kept restaurants take care of their guests.

The leisure center on the outskirts of Sallingberg offers many opportunities for sporting activities. In addition to the atmospheric swimming pond with a large playing field and sunbathing area, there are two tennis courts, a soccer pitch, an asphalt curling field, a beach volleyball court and the shooting club.

The entire community is supported by many hard-working hands on a voluntary basis!
