Stetten
The municipality of Stetten in the district of Korneuburg lies at the end of the Korneuburg Basin - on the flat slopes of the Weinviertel. It presents itself as a typical Weinviertel village with a church, village green, municipal office, school and kindergarten. Only 15 kilometers separate the dynamic village with its idyllic walking and cycling paths from the city of Vienna.
Stetten - then and now
Stetten was first mentioned in a document as "Stetin" in 1187. Today, the municipality is known as a family-friendly, feel-good place - with popular wine taverns and vineyards. The extensive landscape is best explored on foot or by bike. The numerous restaurants, wineries and Buschenschank (typical tavern) invite visitors to take an enjoyable break in between - or to relax at the end of a long day's excursion.
Family excursion tip: Fossil world in Stetten
In the large fossil world in Stetten, visitors go on a great expedition through the vanished tropical sea on the outskirts of Vienna. More than 650 fossil animal and plant species, the largest fossil pearl in the world and digging fields for explorers await young and adult guests. There is plenty of space to let off steam in the adventure playground and the tower snail observation tower offers panoramic views.
