Zellerndorf

The market town of Zellerndorf in the district of Hollabrunn is located in the Retzer Land region - in the immediate vicinity of the towns of Retz and Pulkau. The Znojmo region (South Moravia, Czech Republic) can be reached in just a few minutes via the border crossings Hardegg, Mitterretzbach and Kleinhaugsdorf.

In addition to the village of Zellerndorf, the municipality also includes the villages of Deinzendorf, Dietmannsdorf, Pillersdorf, Platt and Watzelsdorf. The quiet Weinviertel countryside is best explored on foot or by bike. Numerous wineries and inns welcome guests of all ages.

Zellerndorf: the most beautiful sights

The Weinviertel landscape is characterized by traditional wine taverns and wineries as well as countless romantic wine cellar lanes. The Öhlbergkellergasse is a highlight: with 44 wine cellars - some of which are six hundred years old - the almost half-kilometer-long lane is one of the most natural wine cellar lanes in the Weinviertel. There are also regular wine events here.

Excursion destinations
The 14th century Zellerndorf parish church impresses with its Gothic architectural elements. The 18th century vicarage is also a historical eye-catcher. Also worth seeing are several baroque memorial columns, which can be found in all cadastral communities. Of particular importance is the impressive crucifixion group on the Calvary near Pillersdorf.
