Between the Danube, Weinviertel and Thermenregion, wine hiking is an invitation to combine exercise, sensuality and regional authenticity. On seven selected trails, you walk through famous vineyards, pass modern wine bars, enjoy sweeping views over the vines and immerse yourself in wine cellar lanes full of character.
A path like a quiet dialogue between heaven, earth and vine: the little Falkenflug leads for around 7 km through the gently undulating vineyards of Falkenstein, past 25 locations with texts and information that encourage you to pause for a moment. Walkers can feel the breath of the landscape - lime, wind, vastness - and look out over the vines to the Falkenstein ruins.
Three circular trails lead through the Arbesthaler Hügelland and connect the wine villages of Stixneusiedl, Höflein and Göttlesbrunn-Arbesthal. One of the most beautiful vantage points in the Wachau can be reached via the short but impressive Achleiten panoramic trail. It starts in the centre of Weißenkirchen and then runs parallel to the Danube to the vineyards. The unique feature: the unobstructed view over the Danube, terraced landscape and church spires.

The classic route between Mödling and Bad Vöslau: the 1st Vienna Water Pipeline Trail leads through the wooded hills and offers spectacular views. Particularly attractive in September: this is when the section between Gumpoldskirchen and Bad Vöslau is transformed into a pleasure mile with numerous stalls - the so-called longest bar in the world.
