Alpine huts and pastures

Hikers can discover mountain life like in the old days - or at least somewhat like back then - in our cosy huts and peaceful alpine pastures.

Real, authentic and incredibly cosy: These are the huts and alpine pastures in Lower Austria and the Schwaigen - as the Almen am Wechsel are called. Once you've been here, you'll come back soon. You can still feel the real mountain life here and find peace away from the noise and hectic pace of the streets. Here everything is right with the world!

Popular with young and old as a region for recreation

While the children at the "Alm" nature playground bring stones and pieces of wood to life, the adults can relax on the sun terrace in front of the hut and enjoy the colourful view of the happy activity. Meadows rich in species of flowers, imposing mountain peaks and content cows on the pasture form the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable mountain experience.

Breathe deeply with a panoramic view: Our panorama hut tips

The child-friendly Terzerhaus on the Gemeindealpe Mitterbach reveals a unique view of the mountains of the Mariazellerland on its panoramic terrace. There is nothing to equal the Annaberger Haus at Tirolerkogel with its panoramic view over the Mostviertel. The summit view from the deck chairs of the Rax-Alm Berggasthof is particularly comfy, while the Ottohaus offers an enjoyable view over the paradise of the Viennese Alps.
