Description

The small waiting house at Lilienfeld Krankenhaus station defies wind and weather and gives the compact branch line station a touch of nostalgia. Regional trains to St. Pölten main station, Schrambach and Hainfeld are handled here at the single-track station along the Traisentalbahn. The Lilienfeld Regional Hospital, built in 1903, is just a 5-minute walk away.

Lilienfeld's history

As a very young municipality, Lilienfeld was elevated to a market town in 1854. The establishment of coal mining in Schrambach and the steady expansion of industrial facilities in the Marktl district contributed to a significant economic upturn, as did the connection to the railroad line. The stations along the Traisental were primarily developed in terms of freight transport - passenger transport along the line remained
