These are not to be missed! A selection of the best events on the calendar for 2022.

Clear your diary – you won't want to miss these events! 2022 has a lot to offer for foodies, culture vultures and nature lovers!

Mid-February until mid-March: Guga Hö (Wide Awake)

The popular Morning Skiing Sessions in Mostviertel are scheduled for certain dates, and there are still some spaces left! The ticket price includes a welcome snack and cup of tea, exclusive skiing fun on the freshly-groomed slopes, a 1-day ski pass for the resort of your choice (valid from 6:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.), and a hut brunch. Mostviertel specialities, made using local ingredients, are on the menu.

19 March to 18 April: Hof Castle Easter Market

Every year, the Hof Castle Easter Market never fails to inspire guests of all ages with its extensive, varied programme.

26 March to 13 November: Lower Austrian State Exhibition  “MARCHFELD Secrets – People. Culture. Nature.”

The State Exhibition takes place in Marchegg Castle. Visitors have the chance to uncover the region’s secrets. Many partners invite you to join in exciting events as part of the State Exhibition.

1 - 30 April: Ybbsiade

The popular Ybbsiade cabaret and culture festival has a varied programme for 2022, with performers ranging from Viktor Gernot to Gernot Kulis, and from Martina Schwarzmann to Science Busters.

23 & 24 April: Weinviertel Wine Tour

This year, the largest wine tasting in the Weinviertel will take place on 23 & 24. April: The Weinviertel Wine Tour. 250 establishments and vineyards along the Weinstrasse wine route will open their doors for tastings. This is how the Wine Spring in Lower Austria should be celebrated!

23 - 24 April: Kamptal Wine Spring

Don’t miss the Kamptal Wine Spring, on 23 & 24 February. Winegrowers from Kamptal, Kremstal and Traisental will open their cellar doors for tastings.

25 & 26 April: Mostviertel field testing sessions on the Wiener Riesenrad Ferris wheel

The venue for the field testing sessions on 25 and 26 April is particularly scenic! Great culinary experiments, which result in a 6-course menu, are conjured up by Mostviertel’s top chefs (including: Stefan Hueber and Silvia Aigner, Hubert Kalteis, Erich Mayrhofer and Renate Schaufler, Andreas Plappert, Doris Farthofer, Mike Nährer, and Theresia Palmetzhofer).

18 to 20 May: waldviertelpur festival

For three days, the waldviertelpur festival in the Wiener Rathausplatz really helps you to get to know the Waldviertel as a holiday and excursion region.

9 June to 16 October: La Gacilly-Baden Photo Festival

In 2022, the theme of the popular La Gacilly-Baden Photo Festival  is NORDWÄRTS! (“NORTHWARDS!”), and once again focusses on the relationship between humans and the environment.

14 to 19 June: “Fabelhaft!” International Storytelling Festival

Some of the world's best storytellers, mime artists, acrobats and musicians will showcase their talent at the “Fabelhaft!” International Storytelling Festival in Bad Schönau in the Bucklige Welt.

15 June to 20 August 2022: Al fresco dining in the Weinviertel

As the name suggests, Al fresco dining in the Weinviertel promises great food in the open air. Pull up a chair and let top chefs spoil you at a table set with regional delicacies, and surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Weinviertel.

July to September: Top chefs on a mountain top

At Top chefs on a mountain top, two top chefs come together. Together they create a very special menu for their guests, served with a side helping of magnificent Alpine scenery. The package also includes a guided hike.

1 July to 4 September: Wine Culture

Every year, the wine growers inspire visitors with delicious food, special wines, and a good helping of culture. From poetry slams to concerts and readings, there really is something for every culture vulture and foodie!

6 July to 7 August: Children’s.Musical.Summer in Schiltern

Once again, Sir Rusty the Knight invites young garden friends to the Children’s.Musical.Summer in the Kittenberger Erlebnisgärten botanical garden. The exciting play, with toe-tapping music, is a great experience for the whole family.

29 July to 21 August: Stockerau Festival

Georges Feydeau's comedy of mistaken identity  “Der Floh im Ohr” (“The Flea in His Ear”) transports the audience to Paris in the early 1900s. It can be enjoyed as part of the Stockerau Festival, which will take place from 29 July until 21 August.
