Description

The Arabichl is a 1,595 meter high mountain in the municipality of Trattenbach in the Vienna Alps in Lower Austria. The small and fine ski area Arabichl ski lift is located directly on the mountain and enlivens the area in winter. In the warmer season, this alpine region is popular for hiking and walking.

In the vast landscape of the Wechsel there are the so-called "Schwaigen" which are the extensive alpine pastures with their alpine huts. They characterize the landscape and are at the same time attractive nature experiences. Hikes across the Schwaigen landscape offer special views. At the huts, hikers are spoiled with cheese dumplings, organic bread snacks and many other delicacies.

Trails on and around the Arabichl

  • Hike to the Feistritzer Schwaig
    From the Steyersberger Schwaig, the hike goes up to the Arabichl, 1,595 meters above sea level, from where there is a wonderful panoramic view. Afterwards, the trail descends comfortably to 1,438 meters to the Feistritzer Schwaig.

  • Three huts Schwaigen tour leads from the Steyersberger Schwaig to the rustic huts Feistritzer Schwaig and Kranichberger Schwaig. From the Steyersberger Schwaig it goes up to the 1.595m high Arabichl, from where you have a beautiful panoramic view. An easy hike. (duration approx. 2,5 h)
  • The Schwaigen hike at Wechsel leads to many special views.
    The highest point of the hike is the 1,595 meter high Arabichl. More demanding tour.

Tip: The natural snow skiing area Arabichl ski lift in Kirchberg am Wechsel is located directly at the entry point of the Wechsel panoramic trail.
