Hohe Wand Nature Park - observation tower
Lookout tower, Scenic lookout
Description
The viewing tower in the Hohe Wand Nature Park can be reached in around 10-15 minutes from the nature park center. The path leads past llamas, fallow deer and mouflons, which makes the short walk particularly varied.
After climbing 120 steps, the 18-metre-high platform offers a sweeping view of the Piestingtal valley, the Schneeberg and, on a clear day, even the Ötscher. Once at the top, you can enjoy the view in peace and quiet and take in the surrounding landscape - a lovely place to pause for a moment.
How do I get there? The starting point of the hike is at the Nature Park Center, Kleine Kanzelstraße 241, 2724 Hohe Wand. From the parking lot, cross the road and walk past the Naturparkstüberl on the right. The path leads past llamas, fallow deer and mouflons, which adds variety to the short walk.
Follow the leisurely path to the chamois feeding station. The trail then climbs a little uphill to the 18-metre-high viewing tower, which offers a magnificent panoramic view. The way back is along the same wide path, back to the Naturparkstüberl and finally to the starting point at the Nature Park Center.
