Route information

The Weißenkirchen in der Wachau stop is located along the tourist route of the Donauuferbahn, also known as the Wachau Railway.

Views - wherever you look

When you get off the bus here, you don't know where to look first. In addition to the romantic walls in the middle of the village center, there is also the impressive fortified church of the wine-growing community to admire, whose massive tower towers above the roofs of the community. The large fortified complex in the center of Weißenkirchen also includes the Teisenhoferhof - which, as the Lower Austrian Provincial Museum, provides a lot of insight into the idyllic Wachau region and also offers space for contemporary interpretations of art and culture.

Tip: The local roller ferry takes visitors to the opposite bank of the Danube to be greeted directly by the "Wachau Nose".
