Weinviertler Hausfreunde

Traditionally the Christmas biscuits in the Weinviertel are called "Weihnachtskrapferl". Discover how to prepare the homemade delicacies, the most popular Weinviertler Christmas biscuits, here.

Ingredients:

  • 125 g flour, sifted
  • 90 g icing sugar
  • 30 g walnuts, chopped
  • 30 g almonds, chopped
  • 30 g hazelnuts, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 10 g candied orange peel
  • 10 g chocolate, grated
  • 10 g raisins
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • 12 g Butter (room temperature)

Preparation:
Put all ingredients one after the other in a bowl and knead well. Cut the dough in half and form two rolls. Bake in a preheated oven at 190 °C for approx. 15 minutes until golden brown. Cut into diagonal pieces while still hot.
